HVC (Head Vibration Controller)

HVC (Head Vibration Controller)

HVC (Head Vibration Controller) is a system developed exclusively by Red House that aims to achieve vibration damping and stable string vibration by controlling the rigidity of the head.

<Vibration control>
By controlling the wild string vibrations that occur immediately after the attack, the sound rises quickly and clearly, resulting in less muddy chords and clearer response to quick chord changes.

<Stability of string vibration>
By balancing the attack and release, in other words by controlling the wild string vibrations immediately after the attack, the energy that would normally be used to vibrate the head is retained in the string vibration energy, resulting in extended sustain and a richer sound.

The trigger for the development was a consultation from a player who was concerned about the instability of the pitch of conventional products (especially the pitch at the timing of the attack). We then tried various methods to solve the problem through trial and error. Finally, we were able to achieve both "pitch stability" and "natural sound" by embedding "a certain material (trade secret)" behind the head (the flame maple is the lid) to control the vibration of the head. Moreover, it does not sacrifice appearance at all, and there is no need for installation or later processing such as drilling.

Those who have tried it have given us feedback such as "the sound has a quick attack," "the tuning (pitch) is stable," "there are few dead spots," "the chords don't sound muddy," and "the sustain is extended," so we are confident that the intended effect is firmly reflected.
